Additionally, when using maintenance mode, a custom login page built with Elementor also do not work.
I’d personally hoped for a better answer than “not possible” but I’d like to add that this is not “impossible” for the record, the redirect filter can indeed be overridden…but the template_include
filter found in /elementor/includes/maintenance-mode.php
has the highest priority value of 1 which makes it hard to remove and add in your own with special conditions.
If it was say, 10, then you could remove the filter and provide your own with a priority of 5, right within your theme’s functions.php.
I’d definitely use maintenance mode more often but honestly I never use it anymore specifically because of this.
I like to wow my clients with the custom login page and a /design-style page as well while everything else gets redirected. I just write my own maint mode instead.
@benpines: “This is not possible” is not accurate; it absolutely is possible, but might be something that is currently not possible… As stated earlier, I will add this as a feature request.
@pingram3541: Thanks for the deeper-dive, appreciate the time, have you added that as a feature request in their GitHub?
