Constant external connection attempt

    My WP installations constantly try to connect to the external IP 77.222.40.11. I tracked it and noticed it seems to be a Russian IP.

    My anti-Virus has been in conflict with this IP for about a year now, and the IP tries a different port every time.

    Does anyone have the same issue? I would like to think that it is some WordPress or plugin related connection/version checker, but I have no idea how to find out. I have tried searching the IP address on various WhoIs-type resources, but never came up with anything concrete that could warn me or set me at ease.

    Does anyone know about this?
