    You can’t catch everything or everyone, but WordFence has been a consistent plugin for all the sites I manage and create. The paid version is so cheap I can’t think of anyone not getting the total package. You have options to set your level of notification and security to fit your needs.
    I used the free version which is excellent but the paid version has immediate benefits, the free version gets updates one month after the paid version.
