Most often caused by a plugin.
Have you tried:
-deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
-switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
I deactivated all plugins and tried to post again, I still am receiving the connection lost error. I switched to default theme 2015 and am having the same issue.
I also tried using another browser, with the same result.
Are you using Chrome? If so when you are in the editor before saving, hit F12. In the window that opens make sure Console is underlined. The hit the save button. This will show what is not loading which might be the source of the problem.
The only thing that shows up in Console is
load-scripts.php?c=0&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,plupload&ver=342f3db……:9 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.0
I am still unable to post anything. I need this resolved as soon as possible.
I received this error.
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 408 (Request Timeout)
I really need some help with this… I tried checking the htcaccess file in FTP and nothing is wrong there.
Can you add media to the media library? Something is causing a time-out. Check with your host and ask if anything has changed on the server in the recent past. Also ask for access to server logs. When you attempt a save and the timeout occurs, it should show on the server log.
No issue adding media or uploading image files. Error is only when trying to save draft, or publish.
hosting provider said they don’t have access to server logs but nothing was causing latency on their end.
I just migrated to Managed Worpress via godaddy and everything worked for two days. Then this happens.
I am sorry that you are having problems. Have you posted on https://www.godaddy.com/community ?
Every server has a log. If they don’t have access you need to speak to someone who has. Also try this plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/error-log-monitor/ Maybe they have a “error log” that will show errors from your site.
If you Google connection lost. we are backing up this post in your browser
you will see several WordPress support entries which, strangely enough, all the users were on GoDaddy.
Wordpress has had this issue since 3.3
And nothing has been done by it. And now that have added a new feature within the tags to load your tags from database, and now that makes it even more slower and timeouts and connections lost.
I am also having same issue into my blog http://onlinejuction.net. I tried deactive all plugin but not solved the problem 😑
