Connection is not certified on Firefox

  • Hello,

I want to use Easy Digital Downloads plugin but it does not encrypt buttons so those people who use encrypted buttons on PayPal, it does not work. The plugin author suggest to use WP HTTPS (SSL) plugin.

I installed it, which has generated a https:// link for my download page but as my website does not have certificate, Firefox shows “This connection is not certified” and it requires visitor to choose between “I understand the risk” or leave the page… of course people will leave.
I checked out what is ssl, i did not understand everything well, but i understood is that the domain must have its own IP to install the certificate. But i have an account at the server host with multiple domains, means that it complicates installing the certification…

My question : did i understood well that HTTPS (SSL) plugin only generates https:// link but it is me who must get the certificate on my server, or i just did not do something well, maybe i did not make the settings in the right way ?

Thanks for any help (my English is not perfect)…
