• I just moved my blog to a new server.. the host couldn’t grab it for a direct cpanel to cpanel swap, so I ran full backups and uploaded those. She restored, but the database didn’t restore, so I ended up backing up just the database and did a restore on that which worked .. but..

When trying to install new plugins, upgrading plugins and I’m also presuming the auto upgrade for wordpress itself, doesn’t work. I get the Connection Information page to enter my ftp info, but it still doesn’t work. After much searching, I found a few possible solutions. The one with the most success was having my host change ownership from <user>.nobody to nobody.<user> – after that was done, I could then auto install plugins and upgrade plugins.

But, another issue krept up .. I could FTP to my site using FTP software, and view everything there, but I can’t upload anything via FTP. The same thing for using cpanel file manager – it looks like it was uploading, but the file never showed up anywhere.

I’m beyond frustrated and hope that someone here can point me in the right direction to getting everything working properly!
