connection error when adding a new theme

    I’ve just installed wordpress for the first time, and tried to change the theme. After selecting the new theme and pressing the ‘Install’ button, I get taken to the ‘Connection Information’ page which asks for the hostname, username and password.

    I entered ‘localhost’, ‘admin’ and the password that I use to log in to WordPress, but I get the error “Username/Password incorrect for admin”.

    I can’t see how the username and password can be incorrect if they are the ones I use to login to WordPress.

    Any ideas?
