 * Hi, My WordPress site is hosted by network solutions. They do not offer php above
   7. I could not update WordPress, so my site would only provide an error message.
I could not update my WordPress from the control panel at network solutions because
I could not access it. So I deleted the WordPress folder from the server and
downloaded the current WordPress and replaced it. Now I cannot find out where
I find the database address to point WordPress to. Is there a tutorial on this,
that anyone knows of? I can access my database and see an address for it but
it doesn’t work in the wp- file. Thanks for any help!

 * If you don’t have your original wp-config.php file, you may need to add your
MySQL database credentials into the new file: [https://wordpress.org/support/article/editing-wp-config-php/#configure-database-settings](https://wordpress.org/support/article/editing-wp-config-php/#configure-database-settings)
 * Network Solutions seems to have a variety of ways to get the database name, user,
and password, but this should point you in the right direction: [https://www.networksolutions.com/support/how-to-add-set-up-a-mysql-database-unix-only/](https://www.networksolutions.com/support/how-to-add-set-up-a-mysql-database-unix-only/)
 * If not, I recommend contacting their support.

 * Thanks James, but my control panel doesn’t offer the hide/show password in the
   database options.

 * Ok, you’ll need to contact your hosting provider’s support about this.

 * Yes, I have, 3 times. They tell me I need to pay $65 to have resolve the issue.
They tell me it is a WordPress issue. I don’t mind paying but really, I just
need the password. Thanks for your reply.

 * Getting WordPress connected to the database is a WordPress issue, but you can’t
do that without the database credentials (like the password), and getting those
   is a hosting provider issue.
 * You’re welcome to direct them to this thread.
