 * Whenever I install WordPress locally with WAMP or XAMPP it seems like it is impossible
   to connect to wordpress servers.
 * For example when I go to Themes section I get an error message (**[http://localhost/sagitshalit/wp-admin/theme-install.php](http://localhost/sagitshalit/wp-admin/theme-install.php)**)
 * > ארעה שגיאה בלתי צפויה. משהו יכול להיות לא בסדר עם WordPress.org או עם התצורה
   > של השרת. אם הבעיות ממשיכות להופיע, יש לפנות לפורום התמיכה.
 * It’s in Hebrew, it translates to:
 * > There was an unexpected error. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or
   > the configuration of the server. If problems continue to occur, please contact
   > the support forum.
 * I know exactly why this is happening, I have a firewall blocking everything.

   So the WAMP server is active and everything is working fine besides the connection
   to WordPress server, now, since there is no Service or EXE running in Windows
   task manager, I need to know which connection to allow through my firewall and
   I couldn’t find it searching Google.
 * Do you know which IP:PORT I need to allow for this to work?
 * Thanks,
    Oded

 * If you are accessing the installation locally, you should still be able to get
   around the firewall. I’m not sure what kind of firewall you’re using. I have
   a basic APF firewall in Ubuntu. It’s possible the error you’re seeing could be
   related to file permissions.

 * Hmm, interesting.
    I am using [TinyWall](https://tinywall.pados.hu/). As far
   as I know the problem has to do with firewall settings because when I allow outgoing
   connections the problem with WordPress is gone.
