 * I am getting the following errors when i use sqlsrv_connect command to connect
   to a linked ms sql databsse , please help. Thank you

    SQLSTATE: 08001 code: 
   53 message: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0]Named Pipes Provider: Could
   not open a connection to SQL Server [53]. SQLSTATE: HYT00 code: 0 message: [Microsoft][
   SQL Server Native Client 11.0]Login timeout expired SQLSTATE: 08001 code: 53 
   message: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0]A network-related or instance-
   specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Server
   is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and if SQL 
   Server is configured to allow remote connections. For more information see SQL

 * WordPress is not designed to work with SQL Server. It’s designed to work with
   MySQL. You would be better off looking at installing MySQL on the same server
   and using that for your WordPress setup (if you need to run SQL Server). For

 * (There is a link in that thread about a site reported to have been built by Microsoft
   engineers discussing setting up SQL Server to use WordPress, but as they haven’t
   posted anything in years I don’t know if anything there would still work. Caveat
   emptor on that link).

 *  may be i did not make this clear, our WordPress application is running on MySQL,
   I need to connect to an external MS SQL database on another server to extract
   some data to be displayed on the WP application we are developing.
