Confusion with Robot.txt and Generated Sitemap XML file (1 post)

    Hi Yoast, great plugin.
However, I'm a bit confused with the xml sitemap file.
Your plugin will generate xml file at this location

    mydomain.com/sitemap_index.xml

However, I can't see it when viewing from my Cpanel. While that might no be the man issue here, do I need to edit the robot.txt file to include the sitemap generated by your plugin?

Here's the code on the top of my robot.txt

    Sitemap: http://www.mydomain.com/sitemap.xml

When I open that page, I'll see a blank page. But when I view the source code, I can see the xml.

But... the link to your xml sitemap is

    mydomain.com/sitemap_index.xml

Should I change the one in my robot.txt file with your newly generated xml sitemap? Then, inside the generated sitemap, I can see few "sub" sitemaps as well

    http://mydomain.com/post-sitemap.xml
    http://mydomain.com/page-sitemap.xml
    http://mydomain.com/category-sitemap.xml
    http://mydomain.com/post_tag-sitemap.xml
    http://mydomain.com/thirstylink-category-sitemap.xml

Do I need to include all of these in the robots.txt as well?
