Confusion with home page

Hi! I am using the twenty-eleven child theme with a fresh install. The first page I created I thought was the home page but called it welcome to … in the title. Then I created a second page and made it a child of the parent Welcome to .. (which was my only option). Now it shows up as a separate menu item and not a sub item of the Home button.

I wanted to understand this properly because I have set up another site (my own) and think I have messed this part up as I get statistics for both Home Page and … KWD new site which was also the first page I set up .. obviously they are 2 different pages but look the same?
