Confusion about Akismet stats | WordPress.org

I enabled Akismet some months ago. Since then, for other reasons, I turned off commenting on my blog.

Yet the Akismet stats shows numbers in the Ham and in the Spam column. Where are these numbers coming from if nobody is seeing a comment box in my blog posts?

Comments may well still be enabled on some individual posts on your site.

Check the setting in the options:
‘Automatically close comments on articles older than’
and consider enabling it and setting it as a low number to close comments on older posts.

Thanks, but there are no comments enabled on individual posts. They were well and truly and completely blocked (and not a single old post even got a single comment before I turned commenting off).
