Support » Plugin: User Role Editor » easy but with errors

Plugin is extremely useful but in some occasions detects incorrect info. For instance, it says that Admin cannot create posts/pages (that’s pretty weird) or doesn’t enable to delete specific deprecated roles.
There’s also a small translation error and a bug in “delete role” popup: buttons are both “cancel”, and the role selected before opening the popup does change inside the popup drop down list.
It would also be nice to have a feature that tells you if listed capabilities belong to plugins currently installed or not, otherwise you might delete a role that’s used by some.
I’m also curious to know if, once deleted/edited roles I can uninstall the plugin and have the roles stay as edited.

    Thanks for the feedback.

If admin can not create post ‘administrator’ role does not have required capability. Look at this role, check ‘Posts’ group and grant ‘create_posts’ capability to ‘administrator’ role if it was not granted for some reason.

URE does not allow to delete a role while it is granted at least one user. You have to revoke a role from all users 1st, then role will become available for deletion at User Role Editor.

It’s not trivial task to define what capability belongs to what plugin. It requires to analyse plugin source code. There is no any WP internal structure through which plugin could tell to WP and other plugins that new added user capability belongs to that plugin.

All changes you applied to the roles are permanent and will stay untouched with URE deactivation/deletion.
