Support » Plugin: Forminator Payment, Quiz and Contact Form Plugin » Confused… post file

  • Hello, I went through the first 300+ support questions and couldn’t find the answer, so I thought I’d ask… .

    1) I have a post form that allows only PDF upload; all is good.

But then when test subscriber is viewing his post (or admin is), there is no PDF file that was attached to the post. How do I show PDF file that should be attached to post?

    2) How can users edit / delete their post on the front end?

    Thank you.

PS this form builder is really nice, and I’m hoping there is a work around or maybe I’m just missing something.

    Hello @jjnw

I hope you’re doing fine today!

    1) I have a post form that allows only PDF upload; all is good.

The form will allow you to upload PDF or some other file but that’s a separate filed than “Post data” field so if you use both “Post Data” and “Upload” in one form, there’s no connection between those two so such PDf won’t be automatically attached to the created post.

In theory, an URL of uploaded file could/should be added to the post as a value of a custom field and then in your post template file you could add the code to display it as a link or even embedded file.

This, however, would require custom development, I’m afraid.

    2) How can users edit / delete their post on the front end?

Forminator lets you create a form to add posts but there’s no support for post editing (at least not yet) so that’s not currently possible and you would need a separate “front-editing” plugin for this.

I’m more than happy to hear that you do like Forminator and I’m sorry to say that these two features are currently not supported. We are constantly working on improvements and new features, though, so I can promise it will only get better 🙂

    Best regards,
    Adam
