 * i am tryign to install WordPress using fantastico and I keep getting this error
   message “mysql_connect(): Access denied for user” I am not sure what the problem
   is. i have MySQL and phpmyadmin installed.

 * I would guess the username you are using is not the one mysql recognises.
    Find,
   from your host, the correct username.

 * there should be no problem with instillation using fantastico. if it’s not working,
   i would recommend you installing it without fantastico. it really is an easy 
   install

 * When I used fantastico to install WordPress on my site it never asked for any
   information about MySQL Username. I imagine that Fantastico takes care of setting
   up the necessary resources automatically. Since you are getting this error, it
   is possible that Fantastico is not installed/configured properly.
    Contact your
   web host and they can probably resolve it. Regards
