Support » Plugin: Inline Related Posts » Confused about nofollow / dofollow

Upon activating the Inline Related Posts plugin, the field Engine Settings > Link “rel” attribute is set at nofollow. This makes me believe I should keep the setting at nofollow.

When I look at the plugin’s support page SEO Optimization, there is an image of the Link “rel” attribute is set at nofollow. This reinforces my belief that I should keep the setting at nofollow.

But the SEO Optimization page also features a short video where Matt seems to be saying NOT to keep the setting at nofollow.

    Very confusing.

    Two questions:

    1. If Matt believes the setting should be dofollow, why is the default setting nofollow?

    2. Should I set it at nofollow or dofollow?

    Otherwise, I love the plugin!

    Hi @nealumphred ,
    Thanks for choosing IntellyWP products.

There is no right or wrong pratice about that, you should use dofollow because the links of related posts generated by our plugin are pertinent with the main content

But some users could need to set all links generated by our plugin as nofollow

    Cheers

Thanks for the response, but if I “should” use dofollow because the links of related posts generated by your plugin are pertinent with the main content of an article/post then shouldn’t the default setting be dofollow?

I’ll suggest to our dev team to change the default value in a next plugin update

    Thanks again for the response.

I will now change that setting to dofollow on my sites.

    Keep on keepin’ on!
