    Hello,

The plugin is conflicting with Yoast Seo, since the last 2-3 updates – I don’t know exactly, but before everything was OK.

Now the meta titles are not showing correctly. Everything I type after the post title, it is not showing on the search results – it is showing only the post title, without anything after this.

I didn’t change anything from a long time, my meta titles was the same on the last 6 month, and was showing correctly on the search results. After the last WPSSO updates, I started to lose my search position, and when I verified with site:mydomain.com, I saw that every of my pages are showing incorrectly, only with the titles and nothing else!

Please do something about this, because I lost all my good positions, an all pages!

    Thank you & Regards

I’m happy to have a look, but you forgot to include a URL to an example post/page on your site.

Here is an example – but all my posts are like this one, with meta title only the post title:

    https://sorozat.plus/online/instabil-1-evad-3-resz

The Schema type for https://validator.schema.org/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fsorozat.plus%2Fonline%2Finstabil-1-evad-3-resz is WebPage, which is odd because the content appears to be an archive page, which should be an ItemList, not a WebPage.

The Schema name for this WebPage is “Instabil 1. Évad 3. Rész – Sorozat.Plus”, but since WebPage is just a generic container and not supported by Google (see https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/search-gallery), then Google may not read much from that Schema markup. You really should use a supported Schema type like ItemList (aka Google’s Carousel markup) for your archive pages.

It is not an archive page, it is a webpage!

And it is like this also before, when everything appeared correctly!

Here is an other example: https://sorozat.plus/a-sinek-masik-oldalan/online-sorozat

This is a series page, and the one I sent before, was an episode page. Post pages, both. And I don’t understand why WPSSO is conflicting now with Yoast, when it didn’t conflicted before!

I don’t know what you mean by “conflicting” – I don’t see any conflict. What I see is that you’ve chosen WebPage as the Schema type, which does not tell Google what the content is. I’m guessing the WebPage “name” property (aka title) in the markup is correct, but there’s no description or image for the content. Although the Schema type WebPage structure itself is fine, the values you’ve chosen, or that WPSSO was able to get from your content, are not good. My suggestion would be to edit https://sorozat.plus/online/instabil-1-evad-3-resz and update the title and description in the Yoast SEO metabox (since you’re using Yoast SEO), save the page, then make sure the values in the Document SSO metabox are good (the title and description should be pulled from Yoast SEO, but you’ll probably want to make sure there’s an SSO image for the Schema markup, make sure the WebPage language is correct, etc.). You can use Google’s testing tools at https://search.google.com/test/rich-results and https://validator.schema.org/ to make sure the values in the WebPage markup are those you desire. You can find these tools and others in the Validators menu item in the top toolbar when editing a post/page. Looking at your current WebPage markup, although the Schema structure from WPSSO is correct, the information pulled from WordPress about your content is pretty awful. See https://validator.schema.org/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fsorozat.plus%2Fonline%2Finstabil-1-evad-3-resz for more info.

Lol, are you serious? I have 43.131 episodes, and 1853 series, where the meta titles are not showing correctly – so to manually update all???

Rich results and everything are OK, but I still don’t understand why my meta titles are not showing on the search results, since your last plugin updates! As I didn’t change anything else on my site, just updated your plugin, in the last 6 month – so it is obviously that WPSSO made some changes that are not compatible anymore with Yoast Seo! It was compatible before, but now it isn’t!

I provided insight on how to improve the values that WordPress and Yoast SEO provide for your Schema markup, but you can always keep things as-is if you prefer those values and they have worked for you in the past.

Google changes their site analysis algorithms every few weeks – if the title in the Schema markup is correct, and Google is not using that title, then it could be that Google judges the values provided by the Schema markup in general to be incorrect or of no value (ie. not related to the rendered content), so chooses to ignore the Schema markup altogether and trust the visual information it finds instead. Looking at the Schema markup values, aside from the title (ie. “name” property), all other values seem to be incorrect. The structure of the Schema WebPage markup looks fine, but that won’t count for much if the values provided by Yoast SEO and WordPress are of little or no value.

BTW, if you use the WC3 validator in the Validators menu item, you’ll note there are a few issues with the HTML structure of your webpage, including duplicate and incorrect title meta tags (see https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=https%3A%2F%2Fsorozat.plus%2Fonline%2Finstabil-1-evad-3-resz). The title meta tag is handled by themes and theme templates, and since you mention having title related issues, perhaps this incorrect HTML structure may be part of the problem.

Everything was the same before, and my site was on the first page, with average position 5 and daily traffic 7k. Now it is at position 7 with daily traffic 4k.

As it was OK before, so I need to wait to future updates and to hope that everything will be OK again – maybe. And I hope it will be soon, before I lose all my traffic.

I have the same thing happening. How bad would it be if we just deactivate WPSSO Core?
