We’ve started to find that when our pages start to rank in Google, they are not using our Yoast meta descriptions. Google is either taking the tagline (used for the whole domain) for the meta description or making it up itself. When we delete the tagline, the pages display (in Moz) as without a meta description.

We can see when we inspect the blog page that there are conflicting meta descriptions. We know this is a problem: you cannot have the tagline AND the yoast description.

Our problem seems to be that we cannot get rid of the tagline and if we delete it the blog posts will have no meta descriptions at all. Either way, for some reason Google does not seem want to read our Yoast meta descriptions.

    Please help!

We checked on your page and did confirm that duplicate and conflicting meta descriptions are being output. One of these is coming from the Yoast SEO plugin, and the other is coming from either your theme or another plugin. To resolve this we would recommend disabling the meta description being output by another plugin/theme. If you are able to ascertain where the second meta description is coming from we would recommend performing a conflict check to find the source of it and we have a guide on how to do this here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts
