Support » Plugin: External Links - nofollow, noopener & new window » Conflict with Yoast SEO

    Hi, thanks for your plugin.
I have activated the NOFOLLOW function for the external links of my site.
When I write a post manually, inserting a link, no problem.
When instead I copy an article with a link from a Word document and paste it into the WordPress post, I can’t save the draft (not if the publication works, I think not).

Edit. I deactivated the Yoast SEO Premium plugin and the problem is solved. Is it possible to resolve the conflict with this plugin?

  • Ps. I sent the Word document in the “Contact Form” of your site (here: which creates problems with the subject “Conflict with Yoast SEO: Word file”.

Our plugin does not affect the post-editing process. It modifies the links only once the post is displayed. So it’s highly unlikely it’s causing a conflict with any plugin when a post is edited. In general, in these kinds of situations, it’s the Word document to be blamed 🙁 as it usually has problematic formatting which then gets copy/pasted …

We have tested copy/pasting the Word document contents in a post and everything works OK with just WP External Links 🙂

And as you say yourself, the issue goes away when you deactivate Yoast SEO. So the conflict seems to be between Yoast and the Word document contents. You should contact Yoast support and ask them to look into it.

    I await another similar problem.
So I can contact Yoast support and investigate the problem.
    Thanks for your assistance!
