Support » Plugin: Stellar Places » conflict with TheTheFly Image slider 1.1.6 plugin

  • Resolved Steve Cracknell

    Just to let you know, the admin pages of Stellar Places work fine, but if you have TheTheFly installed, the map doesn’t appear on the public page. The space is there, much of the source code (eg Lat and Lon) is there but the map is invisible. is down at present (permanently?) so I suspect there is no hope of contacting them.

    Once I disactivated TheTheFly, Stellar works fine. Any ideas?

    It looks like the TheTheFly Image Slider plugin isn’t available anymore and it would seem that they probably don’t support it anymore. I’d be willing to bet that something with that plugin’s code is causing a JavaScript error that is interfering with other elements on the page, like the Stellar Places map.

    I’d have to visit a URL where both plugins were active to see the issue and be able to offer a conclusive diagnosis. However, I’d probably recommend you switch gears to use something like Soliloquy.

    Thanks for the feedback. I’m sure that you are right about TheTheFly. If you want to see the Stellar map it is here (or would be if there wasn’t the conflict)

    and an example of TheThefly is here

    I expect I may have to change to Soliloquy at some time, but I’ve used TheTheFly on loads of sites..

    @steve-cracknell: Hmm… I’m actually seeing the map.

    So am I now! But before contacting you I had spent some time experimenting and not seeing the map; it was only when I disbled the plugins that it appeared. I made it disappear and reappear…

    Perhaps it was out internet connection, which is flakey at present.

    Anyway, I think you can mark this as user error… Sorry to have troubled you
