Support » Plugin: Relevanssi - A Better Search » Conflict with The Event Calendar

  • This has only just happened.
On the backend when searching in Events (in The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe) it no longer works. I get no search results. I find that turning off Relevanssi restores them. Relevanssi Version 4.1.3
The Events Calendar (free version) is Version 4.8.1
The Events Calendar (Pro Version) is Version 4.6.1

Tribe Events is checked to Index.

Is there anyway to fix it? The site is built around both plugins. Losing either is not an option.

What if you disable Relevanssi in the admin backend searches (disable the “Use Relevanssi for admin searches” option)? Does that help?

Yes it does. I didn’t know about that particular option. At least that gives us something to work with without messing up the front end by disabling it completely. Thanks.

Does this mean we can’t use it for the backend though? It’s a shame if so because it was giving better results in admin area for page and post than the clunky wordpress default.

Yeah, it’s possible you just can’t use Relevanssi in the backend with The Event Calendar, if there’s some compatibility issues. Relevanssi is made for the front end search, and doesn’t necessarily work with the backend search – for example the page search just does not work with Relevanssi, no matter what.

There’s the Dashboard > Admin search, which is a Relevanssi-powered search that works better, you can use that.

Is that a separate plugin? I’m looking but can’t find it.

No, it’s a Relevanssi feature. Under Dashboard in your admin backend menu, you should find “Admin search”, which is a Relevanssi-powered search.
