Hello I’m using Ultimate Plugins Smart Update Pinger to ping services after a new post.
I noticed that the draft posts I prepare on the editorial calendar are not taken as drafts from the mentioned plugin. Thus when I edit and finalize the post and then press publish, the Pinger does nothing and adds the following line to the log “09/12/13 19:04:41 NOT Pinging services (Existing post was edited: –the post title—“
When I start a new post outside the editorial calendar everything works fine.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
    Thank you

Thanks for using the Editorial Calendar. I’m not familiar with the Ultimate Plugins Smart Update Pinger so this is just a wild guess:

The Editorial Calendar creates standard WordPress posts which should be treated like any other WordPress post. It’s possible that the Ultimate Plugins Smart Update Pinger plugin is changing the way the WordPress edit screen works and adding some new fields or other meta data they need to publish. It’s also possible they are adding changes and just using it as an event mechanism.

Either way, you would have to ask them to take a look and make sure they are sticking to the WordPress public API to get post information.
