I recently purchased Ninja Forms File Upload and discovered that there is a conflict which prevents the file upload from working. Initially we suspected the conflict was with Elementor, but the Ninja Forms support team helped me to narrow this issue down to a conflict between Ninja Forms File Upload and the plugin Popup Maker v1.16.1.

    Procedure to Reproduce the Issue
    `
    1. Open browser and navigate to https://nextid.com/authenticity which is a simple form.
    2. Add some dummy values to the fields until the only item left is ‘Upload your artwork’.
    3. Click on ‘Select file’ and notice that the warning “This is a required field” appears along with an exclamation mark, even before submitting the form.
    4. In the dialog that appears, you may select any file to upload. When you click ‘Open’ you would expect to see a file upload indicated by the progress bar, but none appears.
    5. Click ‘Submit’ and notice that the form is NOT submitted because it is missing a required field (the file upload).
    6. De-activate the Popup Maker plugin, refresh the page with the form and repeat the steps above.
    7. Notice especially that there is no warning when you select the file, that after the file is selected, a progress bar is shown to indicate the file upload in progress, after a few moments the filename is shown along with a button to delete it if desired, and finally that you are able to submit the completed form.

The above link shows that if Elementor is disabled, the file upload works. The following link demostrates that if Popup Maker is disabled, the file upload works. This has narrowed down the conflict.

    Hello @wmclaxton

Thank you for reaching out to us!

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site. I checked the https://nextid.com/authenticity/ and I did not see any popup initializing. It seems Popup Maker is inactive. I also did not see any errors in the console.

For us to replicate and further investigate the issue, we would need Popup Maker to be active on the site. Please could you send us a message at https://wppopupmaker.com/support/ and kindly include the URL where we can check the page while Popup Maker is active?

Please could you also attached the error log from Popup Maker. You may find it under the Popup Maker > Tools.

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I disabled Popup Maker in order to have a working file upload form. I will leave it enabled today, so you can test. But do take a look at this video which demonstrates the problem.

I just tried to save the Popup Maker error log and found that it has zero bytes. I also did not see errors in the browser’s Javascript console (btw, I’m using Chrome v90). I just now tried in Firefox and IE v11 and DID NOT see the same error, so it appears tied to Chrome.

I can certainly send you credentials by email (not here of course) so that you can login and see the problem yourselves.

Hello @wmclaxton – if you would like us to assist you further with your issue, and to secure your website’s information then you can escalate it directly to our HelpScout support desk. Check this link: https://wppopupmaker.com/support/ Thank you.

On a further note, since you mentioned that the errors only occur when using Chrome browser then this might be something to do with your browser’s caching and we don’t have full control over this. You can try to clear/purge all browser’s cache or always try in incognito mode/private mode to see if that helps as well.

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

    Maria,

Oh wow, you were right! I removed ‘All cookies and site data’ and the problem went away. Let’s close this case and I’ll just keep an eye on it to see if this happens again.

    Thank you for your guidance.

Nice! Happy to hear that it works for you, @wmclaxton! 🙂

By the way, if you have time then we would very much appreciate it if you could quickly rate the plugin, just to help us spread the word.

    Have a great day!
