Conflict with Enable enhanced user interface

I was hoping to use this with a dropdown field that has Enable enhanced user interface checked so users can search for a selection. But when I add a repeater field around the dropdown, that field no longer works–clicking the dropdown does nothing. There must be a conflict somewhere, any ideas if this can be fixed? Thanks.
