Support » Plugin: W3 Total Cache » Conflict with Desktopserver (serverpress.com)

  • Hi

Apologies if this is in the wrong place – it’s not really a support request, or bug report, just a ‘did you know…’

I’m getting a conflict between the ‘W3 Total Cache’ plugin and the Desktopserver software I use to develop my site offline. Basically, with W3TC activated whenever I try to save a post I get a ‘lost connection’ message. If I wait, the connection is re-established and the post saved but it does take several seconds … and unfortunately the project I’m currently working on requires lots of very short posts, so it’s taking me longer to save them than to write them!

Of course, (1) I’ve only just installed W3TC, so it could be I just haven’t tweaked it right yet, and (2) I don’t actually need it offline – I was just being a bit lazy. Activating it offline means I don’t need to (re)activate it every time I upload my offline database onto the live server.

You may already be aware – a search for “W3 Total Cache | Desktopserver | Conflict” found a couple of entries – but I thought I should mention it, in case not.

Plugin’s great, BTW … from my short experience of it. Many thanks! 🙂
