I couldn’t get this to work but noticed that while in wp-admin it worked but on the site it didn’t.

I deactivated all other plugins and it worked on the site.

I activated each plugin one by one until it stopped working. It stopped working after I enabled Contact Form 7.

I checked the source and the section between and including the following was missing:
    <!–START INACTIVE LOGOUT MODAL CONTENT–>
    <!–END INACTIVE LOGOUT MODAL CONTENT–>

    Hello,

I could not find any error or conflicts using contact form 7 with the plugin. I tested with frontend and backend as well.

The modal HTML is enqueued to footer using wp_footer hook. So, check if something is conflicting this maybe ?

    Hi there,

Any update regarding the issue on your side ? I could not replicate the issue according to your description above.

    More description is appreciated.

    Thanks

I appreciate you following up on this. I have not had a chance to delve into this further. This is a client’s site, one that we took over support on. They have all sorts of funky things and custom programming going on so there may be more to the issue.

Right now all I know is that when I deactivate Contact Form 7 your plugin starts working, when I reactivate it yours stops working.

But if it works for you with Contact Form 7 activated then obviously there is something else going on.

I would show you the site but unfortunately it’s a restricted site and only registered users can view it.

I guess my next step is to start removing some of their scripts and see what that does.

Ok here is the latest and this is weird.

After hours of removing custom programming, deactivating, reactivating plugins I finally found how I can make the code appear and disappear from the footer.

I’ve got all the custom programming in place and the Contact Form 7 plugin activated.

Now when I’m logged into wp-admin on one tab in Firefox and on the site in another tab the code shows up in the footer. But when I log out of wp-admin on the one tab, refresh the site on the other tab, the code disappears. I can repeat this process without fail.

So why would logging into wp-admin affect this?

I’ve figured out the problem and I feel stupid for not realizing the previously. The reason this wouldn’t work unless I was logged into wp-admin is because I wasn’t logged into the site until I logged into wp-admin. So your plugin had nothing to do and no reason to be activated unless I was logged in somewhere.

The reason I didn’t pick up on this was because the client’s site had an external “login” to be able to view the site, but this wasn’t a WP login but more like their server login.

I thought I was logged into WP and so I figured the plugin should be working.

    Thanks for your help.
