We noticed on our installation that Instant Images was preventing AJAX autosaves from working. It showed “Save failed” in the bottom right of the TinyMCE editor, and something was preventing nonces from validating. Disabling the Instant Images plugin fixed this. Not sure if this was something specific to our environment, but wanted to flag.

Totally missed this, sorry @chriscombsdc. Let me know if you see this again and if you can, please provide some more env variables such as plugins, host etc.

I am seeing the exact same error. Nothing in error log, just not doing autosaves. Have not yet tried the latest version though with curl replace with php copy.
