Support » Plugin: TinyMCE Advanced » Conflict with another plugin in IE

  • Hello Andrew

Thanks for all of your hard work to date and congratulations on the Mill plus.

I am running a site that has both both live chat and a bbpress forum

I installed your plugin to add a simplified tinymce to the forums.

Works great in FF and Chrome but in IE the tinymce menu is completely missing from the bbpress topic and reply forms.

I am running the Wise Chat plugin for live chat. After spending a great deal of time I discovered that the conflict is between Wise Chat and tinymce. If I deactivate Wise Chat the MCE menu appears in IE.

I have posted a message in the support thread for Wise Chat however, I have had no response assistance.

I am now in a bit of a pickle because a great deal of my site is designed around live chat.

I was hoping with all of your vast experience you might know a way to fix this problem.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

    Kind Regards

    Max

It is impossible to guess where the problem may be without an error message. However as far as I know TinyMCE is fully compatible with all versions of IE back to IE8, and with all Edge. So chances are the error is somewhere in the other plugin.

It will help to get the error(s) that show in IE, with traces. Best is to use IE11’s console/browser tools. Perhaps it is something small that can easily be fixed.

Thanks Andrew for your response. I have moved on to another chat plugin to fix/avoid the issue.
