  • In some testing, a selection is made from ‘radio field 1’ which displays more radio fields beneath with conditional logic.

I then make selections from these newly displayed fields, but hide them again by making an alternative selection from ‘radio field 1’.

In the email submission the hidden fields values are recorded. Is it possible to wipe the users selections for these fields if conditional logic makes them hidden, because to the user they investigated these options but decided against them.

Some of my radio fields have a preselected option, and where the user chose a different option, then if the field is hidden by conditional logic it could be returned to the preselected option; but not record a value on submission.

Other radio fields do not have a preselected option, and where the user chose an option, then if the field is hidden by conditional logic it could be reset.

    Thanks,

    Hello @ratamatcat

    Hope all is well!

In some testing, a selection is made from ‘radio field 1’ which displays more radio fields beneath with conditional logic.

Just to clarify, there are two Radio Fields in total. Second radio field shows up only when a certain option in a 1st radio field is selected. Right?

So we could better understand the setup, would you please export the form created on your site, upload it to Google Drive/Dropbox and share the download link in here?

Out if the box, not including hidden fields in an email is not possible. Although I’ve asked our developers for feedback, so they could let us know if there is a way to do this.

    Kind regards,
    Nastia

    Hi Nastia,

to cover in some better detail..

A radio field with the following product type options:
    acrylic print
    canvas print
    framed print
    metal print

User selects framed print and there are 2 more radio fields that are shown with conditional logic:

    paper
    mounting

User selects an option under paper
User also selects an option under mounting called framed and there are 2 more radio fields that are shown with conditional logic:

    mat
    frame

User selects an option under mat called white and selects an option under frame called natural beech

Then, user then selects canvas print from product type, and this hides all 4 framed print radio fields and shows its own set of new radio fields
User selects from the canvas print radio fields
    User submits form

In the submission email there are the fields for framed print, with users selection, namely:

    mat, white
    frame, natural beech

But interestingly, the other two framed print fields paper and mounting that were selected are not included in the email. It seems that for a second layer of conditional logic (i.e. the options mat and frame) the fields are incorrectly submitting, unlike the first layer of conditional logic (i.e. the options paper and mounting) which are correctly omitted from the email data.

You could follow my test above with the exported form:

Hope you’re doing well and I’m sorry for the late response on this.

We’ve already forwarded this to our developers and Second Level Support staff for further investigation. We’ll keep you posted here as soon as there are any valuable insights about it.

    Thank you,
