Concerned about fake links on a WP site I made.

    Hi, I finished a site for a client of mine about a month ago. I have been checking my google webmaster account to see how the indexing etc is coming along and noticed quite a few crawl errors three days ago. They are blatant rubbish and I am concerned these are a sign of hacking or a security breach of some kind.

    First I checked the site via FTP, none of these files/pages exist. Then I called the web host who checked the site and any contact via FTP. They confirmed the site is ok.

    Yesterday the number grew to over 150 of these crawl errors and today it’s over 300! Can anyone tell me what might be going on? Also, these crawl errors (500 error code) may not do the search engine ranking any good, as it looks like there are loads of broken links.

    What can I do about this apart from worry? 🙁
