We may need a little more detail to diagnose the problem, but from what you describe I could imagine that the images you’re compressing are large. In this case it can happens that the compression takes too long and is cancelled. Are you able to send us the output of the PHP function `phpinfo()`? Its weird how it worked perfectly to start with, did the first 10-15 images then just stopped working. Other customers have reported to us that setting `max_execution_time` wasn’t enough when they were hosted on WPEngine. The only change i made was not to put images in month folders and it seems to be working OK for the minute.
