 * Hi,
 * Yesterday I tried composing a new post but the window hung after 4 or 5 seconds
   and the entire wordpress panel jammed. I tried clearing my browser’s cache and
   updating the database, but it didn’t work. If I use other tools on the Control
   Panel, I get no problems (i.e. change themes and plugins). As soon as the compose
   window opens up, the problem emerges. It seems, as long as I’m in HTML mode,
   I’m better off. Switching to Rich Text mode creates the problem.
 * I happen to blog through a completely different website (also using wordpress.
   org) and I get the same problem.
 * What can I do?
 * Thanks…

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

 * Thanks for the suggestion. The problem persists even when all plugins are deactivated
   and when the Twenty Ten theme is active. Any other suggestions?

 * Try increasing the memory available to PHP:

 * Just did that by installing the Memory Bump plugin. Doesn’t work :$

 * Memory Bump is already part of core in WP 3.0. You need to try one of the other
   methods.

 * Hi esmi,
 * Your suggestion about increasing the memory gave me the idea that there could
   be memory problems with the PC i was using. I switched to a different machine
   and voila! no more crashing.
 * Thanks for helping.
