    Hi guys,
recently a lot of users of my website contact me via email, that the contact form didn’t work for them.
I am using the Divi Theme contact form and recently I noticed that my Cookie tool (complianz) blocks the sending of the contact form if the users don’t accept my cookie banner. What can I do to get rid of this issue?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @lukieh,

Most-likely you have a ReCaptcha v3 element added to this form, and at the same time have the Google ReCaptcha integration activated under Complianz > Integrations > Services. The reason why it doesn’t work: V3 is invisible, and we can’t add a placeholder like we do for V2.

Please try if disabling the Google ReCaptcha integration under Complianz > Integrations > Services solves the issue.

I would also like to note that your website uses version 5.2.5 of the Complianz plugin, while the most recent version is already at 6.3.4. We’d recommend updating to ensure that your website contains all of the latest fixes and improvements.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

Hi @jarnovos , thank you so much for your reply. I just did an update. I also searched for the Google ReCaptcha integration under Complianz > Integrations > Services, but I can’t find “Google ReCaptcha” there. So I couldn’t get rid of the issue yet. Do you have any ideas?

After a few tests I also noticed that the contact form only displays the error if the cookie banner is untouched, so neither accepted nor declined.
After accepting or declining cookies it works properly.

    Hi @lukieh,

Could you try going to Complianz > Wizard > Consent > Services? Make sure Google RECAPTCHA is selected as a third party here and then go to “Do you want to block reCAPTCHA before consent, and when consent is revoked?” and answers this with no.

Please let me know if this works. I am happy to look into it further!

Hi @kimvdijk , i just followed all the steps and it was already set up like described by you. So it didn’t work :-/

    Does anyone have further tips?

    Hi @lukieh,

As per your initial description of the problem, I assumed that Complianz might have been blocking a ReCaptcha or Divi script that would cause this issue to appear.

But as you state that “after accepting or declining cookies it works properly”, this is likely caused by something else entirely. Because Complianz won’t unblock this script when you decline cookies, so that should not cause it to resume working.

Now, I visited your site with the ?ao_noptimize=1 parameter added to the URL, which displays a version of the site prior to Autoptimize’s optimizations being applied. And the contact form works fine again when doing so, without having to accept/decline the Complianz Banner:

    http://feieralarm.at/kontakt?ao_noptimize=1

So I would suspect this behavior to be related to some optimization in Autoptimize. I would therefore recommend disabling specific optimizations in Autoptimize one-by-one, then purging cache and checking the front-end after each change, until the form’s functionality is restored. That’ll tell you exactly which setting results in this behavior.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @lukieh,

Did the solution my colleague offered point in the right direction for solving the issue? Please let us know if you need any assistance regarding our plugin for this issue or if it indeed turned out to be caused by something else.

    We are happy to help.

Hi @kimvdijk and @jarnovos , thank you SO MUCH for your help. As @jarnovos found out correctly, the problem came from auto optimize plugin. I just added an exception for the whole contact page in auto optimize and now it seems to work properly.
