For a client I have made several websites, all of them have complianz.
Since the last WordPress update there is a problem with 2 of the sites concerning Complianz.

    – I can log in as admin, but my client can’t log in with editor rights. One of the sites gets a ‘critical error’, the other a white page
    – if I turn off Complianz, the editor can log in
    – the sites without problems are all still on php 7.4
    – the site that gives the critical error is on 8.1
    – the site that gives the white pages is on 8.0

I hope you can help, let me know if you need more info!

    thanks!!

    Can you try this branch?
    https://github.com/Really-Simple-Plugins/complianz-gdpr/tree/catch-not-existing-submenu-for-user-roles

The issue is most likely caused by the plugin expecting the ‘complianz’ submenu, which isn’t there for this user role.

Thanks for your reply, but I am not sure what you mean with ‘try this branch’
I see a list of folders and files but I don’t know what to do with them.

hope you can guide me through what to do!
    thanks!

    Hi @omniafausta,

Click the green “Code” button on that page, then select “Download .ZIP”.

This will result in a zip file that contains the updated version of the plugin, which you can install as a plugin on your WordPress website under Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.

Make sure to remove the “old” plugin after doing so, to ensure that you don’t have Complianz activated twice on your website.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

ah thanks! I hadn’t seen the download zip option, because that makes sense, after that it was easy!
Installed the plugin and it seems to work in my test (just waiting for my client to confirm).
Will this version be updated when a normal update comes along?

    thanks

@omniafausta yes, it can be updated normally. The branch will get merged in the next update. Thanks for confirming!
