Hello, I was unable to save my start page (Home) after a revision and found the Complianz plugin to be the cause.

If the Complianz plugin is deactivated, I can save the start page without any problems. If the Complianz plugin is activated, I cannot.

However, this only affects the start page. If the Complianz plugin is activated, I can save all other pages of my website without any problems.

The problem is new and no more than a few weeks old. I have had Complianz installed for over a year and have never had any problems.
I last changed my start page a few weeks ago.
This means that something must have happened with an update in the last few weeks.

    Any ideas please?

    Hello @feuerland ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I’m sorry to hear that. Could you please send a video of the issue? This way, I can see specifically what is happening, possibly with the console open and the network tab too, to check if any connections fail. I don’t see anything particular on your homepage, so I would like to understand the situation better.

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello, I phoned my hoster and found out that I only have 256 MB memory limit in my plan.
Complianz requires 268 MB according to the error log from the hoster.

Why does Complianz need so much? I had no problems with Complianz it last year.
What has been changed at Complianz so that it needs more memory limit now?

How can I solve the problem?
Either switch to a more expensive plan with my hoster, where I have more memory limit – which is out of the question at the moment.
or use another plugin instead of Complianz
or change something in the Complianz settings?

    Thanks for help 🙂

These 3 error messages are repeated in the error log from the hoster:

Server certificate does NOT contain an ID that matches the server name

mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in html/stepplan/wordpress/wp-includes/meta.php on line 1206

    Hello @feuerland ,

Thank you for sharing the log with us. It is not Complianz that is requesting 268MB, but your entire WordPress instance. The combination of activated plugins on the site could cause the memory limit to be reached. For example, if you have a combination of a few relatively ‘heavy’ plugins/themes activated.
This explains why plugins like Complianz stop working on your site.

If you are not willing to change your plan, which is totally understandable, consider using a plugin such as Query Monitor to identify which plugins contribute to the memory limit being exceeded.

I hope this helps. Wishing you a nice Easter!

yes you are right, I tried it with other big plugins and the same effects.

I will continue to use Complianz. Otherwise I am very satisfied 🙂
