• Hi

    I would like to ask if anyone can recommend a plugin that is capable of creating quite a complex form?

    The form itself has five different sections but within one of the sections I need to display the form fields in a table structure.

    For example:
    Label One Label Two Label Three
    One: {input field one} {input field two} {input field three}
    Two {input field one} {input field two} {input field three}
    Three {input field one} {input field two} {input field three}

    I have looked into Gravity forms but haven’t been able to establish whether this is do-able with their plugin, the other one I am looking into is cforms.

    If there are any other plugins anyone can suggest, that would be great.
    Also, if a plugin is not capable of doing this, is it at all possible to hard code the form as a template maybe and only apply this to one page?

    I’m not too sure as I’m not too familiar with wordpress.

    Thanks in advance

    🙂

  • I had used Cforms for awhile – it’s got tons of features, and can generate quite complex forms without any HTML coding knowledge, all Ajax-y and nice.

    BUT I have no idea if it’s WP3 compatible, and it is so complex that at times it’s buggy, so I stopped using it.

    At the other end of the spectrum is Contact Form 7, which doesn’t have nearly as many features, but for me it’s very simple and highly reliable. If you’re making a complex form with this, you’d probably need to do some HTML hand-coding. It does have a tool that will generate various types of form parts. Then from the generated code, you could add labels, for instance. I also use CSS to help format the forms I make. Between all that, maybe you could get what you need.

    I love Contact Form 7, and donated to the guy as well.

    Good luck.

    Thanks Flamenco, will give it a try.

    Think I’m going to need the luck!

    Hi,
    I just happened to look at Cforms’ site, and it says it’s WP3 compatible, so it might be worth a try! (I haven’t tried this version myself)

    Hello, I am contemplating switching our university site from joomla to wordpress and forms is the main thing holding me back.

    We use the Chronoforms Joomla extension which is extrememly powerful and flexible (you basically hand write your form code and paste it into fields in the Chronoforms backend). It has support for sending multiple emails out based on dynamic form fields (i.e, and email field) or static. We use that to send an email to the registrant and to the department that is holding the event. Since chronoforms pretty much just acts like a form manager (though recent versions do include a form wizard) you can create a form to do whatever you want.

    I can’t seem to find anything like this for wordpress.
