completely disappear when "x" is clicked

    I have the plugin set up with the option for users to hide and reopen the links

    Yes, and visitors CAN re-open (a small x in the top corner of the frame hides it, and a small icon continues to float which will reopen the whole frame)

    But when the close “x” is clicked, they completely go away and cannot be reopened. Is there a way to fix that?

    The “show” icon is probably either too small, or hidden behind another element in your theme. However, this feature will be removed entirely in the next major plugin update, so I recommend disabling the ability to hide the frame now anyway, as its original purpose is no longer relevant.
