I’m trying to add an image slider to my Home page: 8 images, each linking to another page of my website.

My WordPress is 5.5.1, and my page builder is King Composer. Each time, I’m entering the shortcode into a King Composer text box.

I’ve tried two alternative slider styles:
    – Thumbnails/Lightbox 1
    – Accordion Slider 1.
(Accordion Slider 1 is better for me.)

When completed, neither one loads. Just get endless loading symbol. Even within WordPress, using the “Preview Changes” button, it’s the same.

If you go to the Home page of my website (link above for those logged in), you’ll see the situation.
Below the header image and menu:
    – 1) First you can see a simple text slider, made using Slide Anything.
    – 2) Then, below that, you can see a temporary image slider that I had to create in Slide Anything, to do the job the RichWeb image slider should do, until I can solve this problem.
    – 3) And then you can see the RichWeb ‘loading’ symbol – never finishing (for my Accordion Slider 1).

I made no changes to the Accordion Slider 1 template, except to substitute my images from my site Media Library, insert the links to the correct pages on my website, and add text labels for each image of the slider.

Obviously it’s not the size of the images, since the temporary Slide Anything slider handles them fine.

I bought the Pro version of this RichWeb plugin yesterday, specifically for these styles I’m trying to use. So obviously at the moment I could be happier…!

Is this a new compatibility issue from some change in WordPress 5.5.1? Or with King Composer?

(I’ve used the text editor option in the King Comploser text box, not the visual editor. So there’s no unwanted formatting, just the correct shortcode.)

    Thanks!

    Dear wayfarer66

There is no way to remove the magnifying glass from the options, except to disable it in the admin panel. You can hide it from codes if you want. As for the obvious exit, there is an “X” in the upper right corner of the screen that closes the LightBox. We cannot offer you another LightBox type, because we don’t have any other offer at this time.

    Thanks

????? This answer has no connection with my problem (slider not loading), above. Maybe an answer to someone else’s question, and posted here by mistake?
