Compatible with other gallery plugin?

    Hi,

    We are trying to use the folder gallery from this plugin:
    WordPress Real Media Library

    You basicly show a gallery of a folder, they make use of the normal wordpress gallery. pdf and word files are not displayed. Would installing this plugin help/can it help to create this?

    Hi Martijn,

    I had never heard of that plugin before, but taking a quick look at what it claims to do, it looks like it adds functionality that is already available through free plugins:

    I would suggest checking those out first.

    Anyway, addressing your question related to Document Gallery, either the plugins mentioned above or RML would both probably work with Document Gallery. Document Gallery just uses the files as they already exist in the WordPress Media Library, so it generally plays nicely with other plugins as long as the other plugin isn’t doing something weird. Document Gallery would provide you with thumbnails for all supported filetypes, including PDF and Word files, as you mentioned. The one caveat is that if you want support for Word files you’ll need a subscription to thumber.co, which integrates with Document Gallery to extend the number of supported file types.
