File Away is compatible with WP5. If you’re referring to the shortcode generator not popping up, that is an issue some installations have had. For the time being, you can use a plugin such as Classic Editor to (permanently or temporarily) restore the WP 4 editor style and the shortcode generator works just fine.
I’m working on a successor to File Away, and in the one I’m working on, there will be no shortcode generator because all shortcodes will only take a single parameter. You will create your shortcodes on a different admin page and save the settings to the db. Then a unique id string will be generated for each shortcode.
But like I said, for the existing File Away plugin, you can use Classic Editor if you need to have the shortcode generator working.
