    Hi,

I’ve noticed that when I disable the xml-rpc system in Shield Security plugin, your plugin still says in the firewall settings ‘Block XMLRPC Access (Currently Allowing Access)’.

Is this an incompatibility or is Shield not turning of xml-rpc?

    Many Thanks,
    Adam

I can’t speak to how this “Shield Security” plugin works but it is clearly not using the .htaccess method that I use to block access to the XMLRPC functions. I don’t see this as a question of incompatibility so much as a question of how “Shield” is turning off access to xml-rpc, and that is a Question for Shield. I don’t see any reason that there would be a conflict if you want to enable both types of protection as they seem to function in different way and thus they should not interfere with each other.

Please let me know if you find out how Shield is blocking xml-rpc and I can give you a better answer then.

    Aloha, Eli

Thanks I will get back to you. The plugin is actually called Shield WordPress Security. I think they claim to not change the .htaccess file so they must do it some other way.

    Thanks
