Hi, the author is claiming the theme is compatible with BuddyPress and bbPress. While those plugins are working with this theme, they do not have a proper appearance. For example the fonts used in bbPress forum are blue (absolutely not adapted to the red/white/black tone of the theme) and very small (compared to blog fonts which are dark and large). Same for BP groups. So of course I can go ahead and modify some theme options after I find them. But well, if the author claims compatibility with those modules, I guess they should be better integrated design-wise.

Ward has been tested for bbPress and BuddyPress. Some of the issues you are referring to are actually due to the stylesheet built in to those two plugins. Here is an example of how bbPress looks in Ward and how it looks in TwentyThirteen:

As you can see font size is small in both.

In that respect (i.e. working) most themes are compatible with BuddyPress/bbPress. You may want to provide a bbpress.css customized to fit the style of your theme (same for BP). Just a suggestion though, but when I saw support for BP and bbP in your theme specs I thought they would just look good without the need for further customization, else this is not needed to inform of BP/bbP support as this is the case by default with most today’s themes.
