The JS WebP code should not run on amp pages, but do let me know if you find otherwise.

The only ways I know of to enable WebP with AMP are these:
    1. Use server-side rules, with Apache/Nginx.
    2. Use a Cloud/CDN system like Cloudflare (with Mirage) or our ExactDN to serve WebP without any code changes.

To my knowledge, the amp-img element does not work to serve WebP images efficiently (without one of the above methods). With amp-img, a fall-back image is only loaded after a browser downloads the WebP version and fails to decode it, which wastes bandwidth.

To my point of view you provide a solution for serving webp images on normal pages. In my case, only the webp js script is working, due to cloudfare use, this is your recommandation.

So, to my point of view, you should also provide a solution for serving webp images on amp pages, which are generated by the amp official plugin.

We do provide a solution, as I already mentioned, and it’s called ExactDN: https://ewww.io/resize/
It works on all pages, with no additional configuration.
