    Hello,

    There are two compatibility issues:

    1. Once the TranslatePress plugin is enabled, the excerpt length limit stops working when the original text is in Chinese. This issue applies to The7 theme’s widget (which is based on Elementor) and cool timeline plugin and happens on both original page and translated page. The issue can be observed on the linked page, the text length should all be limited to 25 characters long and a READ MORE button should be inserted at the end of the chunked text.

    2. The data format of cool timeline plugin is been messed up on the original pafe after the Google Automatic tranlation been activated. It is supposed to show a nice date fomat such as “2021-01-13
” but it shows “0113” now. The interesting part is that the translated page actually shows correct format. You can observe the issue on the provided link as well. This issue happens after the Google Automatic tranlation been executed on any page. Disabling the Google Automatic tranlation afterwards won’t fix the issue. I have to either remove MySQL tables start with “wp_trp_” or disable the TranslatePress plugin to fix the issue.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi,

    1. TranslatePress doesn’t change anything on the default language. The read mode button is in the same place as it is in the original language, so, I don’t see an issue here.

    2. As I specified at 1, TranslatePress doesn’t make any changes on the default language content. Maybe you can tell me how to try to create this setup in order to see if it’s replicable.
Also, consider opening a ticket on our website. It may be necessary for this issue to be investigated in detail.

    Hello Alex,

I also believe TranslatePress should not modify the original page but it is not the case here. Both the date and excerpt text are generated from the php code on the backend. I suspect there is some sort of race condition that introducrd by TranslatePress which prevent other plugin/theme from working properly.

This issue is definitely reproducible. I encountered this issue in two of my sites and the URL I provided is a testing site I setup for debugging these issues. The testing site currently disabled all other plugins except TranslatePree and Cool Timeline plugin. In addition, I set the wordpress theme to the default one to control all of potential factors that could contribute to this bug.

Based on my understanding, opening ticket on your website is only for paid user. I am not sure if I would like to subscribe to your service at this time due to the incompatibility issues.

If you need, I can provide credential to my testing site via a private commuincation channel (e.g email).

    Hi,

The date format issue seems to be a bug. I’ve noticed our developers about it and they will try to manage it as soon as possible. Due to the fact that you can use another Timeline Date Format to display the date (other than Y-m-d), the issue will not be treated as so urgent.
