Redis Object Cache Plugin with Valkey

    I’m currently working on a project where I’m considering using the “Redis Object Cache” plugin to improve caching and performance. However, before I dive in, I wanted to check if anyone here has experience or knowledge about the compatibility between the “Redis Object Cache” plugin and Valkey.

    Has anyone successfully used these two together? Are there any known issues, configurations, or special considerations I should be aware of? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Yes, Redis Object Cache is fully compatible with Valkey, now and in the future.

    I installed Valkey 8.0.1 and the plugin shows that I have version Redis 7.2.4. Seems like the plugin is compatible with Valkey through backward compatibility of Valkey with Redis 7.2.4.

    Yeah, so Valkey reports:

    redis_version:7.2.4
    valkey_version:8.0.1

    And that’s why it still shows up as Redis 7.2.4. We’ll make that more clear in the future.
