  • Hi at first I am not good at English so please understand my terrible writing.
I want to make a company website but I have a question.
Is it okay if i use free version wordpress as a commercial website?

I will not sell products through my website but it can be used for making money you know so I want to make sure that I can use free version wordpress as a business website before I create it.

    Thanks

  • There’s no paid version. The WordPress software is free and open source and can be used for any type of site you want, even if you want to make money. You’re still going to need to pay for hosting though.

You can see a list of recommended hosts here: https://wordpress.org/hosting/ None of them have any restrictions on using their services for hosting a commercial site, but the amount of bandwidth, storage and performance will often depend on how much you pay.

WordPress.com, emphasis on the .com, is a host that uses the WordPress software under the hood. They have a free plan, and I believe they allow commercial websites on it (I don’t know why they wouldn’t), but if you want to see what they let you do you should visit their website and check their terms.

As an additional note: I find this comparison really useful to show clients and those attending training with me the differences between the two options:
