I’ve had my thread closed by mod, because I was asking for help for free theme, which can be purchased (and only then they offer support).

Rule cited http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#The_Bad_Stuff includes the following line: ˝We do NOT support premium themes as you paid for their support˝ – I didn’t and I stated so in my post and ˝ If someone wants to help, that is fine.˝

I don’t think mod’s decision was per rules. I suggest WP forums specify rules in this regard or issue some instructions to mods (I noticed not all of them close threads because of same issues).

I understand what the intention of the rule was and I can respect that, but blocking any discussion on ˝commercial˝ themes when this discussion is being an only or last resort of WP users, seems rather … unnecessary.

Having reviewed the thread in question, I disagree. The moderator was quite correct.

The wordpress.org support forums are meant for the core application, themes and plugins that are distributed on wordpress.org. We do not support themes downloaded from elsewhere – full stop.

    Really?

This thread was about the same theme and answered by mod.

Look, I will found solution elsewhere, I just find it confusing when sometimes mods follow rules very strictly and sometimes not at all.

Well, I’m sure you all know what you’re doing. I’ll stop complaining right now.

P.S.: Just one more thing, there was no full stop in the rules, instead there was this sentence: ˝ If someone wants to help, that is fine.˝

Inconsistencies abound here, and sometimes they vary from one hour to the next and even from the same mod. But if this forum ever became a place where support for commercial themes was invited and encouraged, its true purpose and good use would be overrun and defeated. So, the mods do what they do just as we all do as we must.

By the way, I actually closed the thread because you tried to reopen a 4-month-old thread that didn’t even belong to you.

If you need support, you create your own thread.

    Smiley face 🙂

Why did you cite a whole different set of rules then?

Never mind, you are all probably coders, it would be foolish to expect from you to behave like lawyers. Thank you for your support.

We assume people read the forum guidelines before posting. Have a read. Protocols will make more sense when you do.
