 * I demand answers.
 * And I shall tell you of my tale:
 * So there I was, frustrated that the comments weren’t working at _all_. As in
   the comments weren’t showing up, there was just empty space in where they were
   supposed to show up. So, I installed a plugin (Sexy Comments) that messes around
   with my comment section. It to my utter surprise, actually worked. However, when
   I added `comments.php` to my theme directory, the whole thing disappeared. That
   confused me to no end.
 * Still not understanding the issue, I came here searching for answers as to why
   this was occurring. None dared to give me a solution. Not even the Codex would
   provide me reprieve from this horrid problem!
 * And so, I ask of you WordPress nerds:
 * what the hell’s up with the `comments.php` in this strange case?

 * So you added `comments.php` to your theme … but what did you put _in_ it? If
   it’s empty then you ain’t gonna get no stinkin’ comments.

 * It was supposed to have a ready-made comment template from this [handy tutorial](http://themeshaper.com/wordpress-themes-templates-tutorial/),
   but nothing showed up at all. I even made a thread about it but nobody answered
   it. As of now, I’ve deleted the `comments.php` template because I was so frustrated
   that nothing was working correctly. The comments are working perfectly, however,
   I want to customize the `comments.php` template further.
 * One problem: I’m a complete n00b at PHP. I do know about the includes and _the
   Loop_ WordPress uses though.

 * Thanks a bunch, govpatel!
 * I finally solved my problem, turns out that the template didn’t work well for
   3.0+. Finally, I’ll get on with life!
