Comments will not disable

Hi,

I am working with the child Path theme and I added and edited a new page. Somehow the comments are not disabled. The screen options show that the ‘comments’ box is unchecked. My other pages don’t show comments but have similar settings as my new page.

I disabled all the plugins, but even then the comments won’t go away. I don’t know where it is going wrong now. Is there something I overlooked somewhere? Thanks!
